The International University of Rabat has joined the prestigious global ranking, Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE) 2026, securing the second position nationally among 12 Moroccan universities included in the list.
The university was listed among the top 1000 universities worldwide, out of institutions representing 115 countries and regions, highlighting its prominent status in both Moroccan and international higher education. THE Rankings evaluate universities based on five main pillars: teaching quality, research environment, research impact, international outlook, and industry engagement through patents and revenue.
According to the university’s statement, this outstanding achievement reinforces the International University of Rabat’s presence in global rankings, following four years of participation in the THE Impact ranking, which evaluates universities according to their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university continues to hold the first national position in this area.
Founded in 2010, the International University of Rabat is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, with a distinguished record of international achievements, including being the leading African university in patents and awarding its researchers gold medals at the International Exhibition of Innovation in Geneva.
Recently, the university also received prestigious international accreditations, including CTI and EUR-ACE for its three engineering schools, as well as EQUIS and AACSB for its Rabat School of Business, which was ranked this year among the top 20 business schools globally.
