The province of Midelt will host, from October 15 to 19, 2025, the fifth edition of the National Apple Forum under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, themed “Sustainable Management of Water Resources: The Foundation for Developing the Apple Sector in Mountainous Areas.”
This national event, organized by the National Apple Forum Association in Midelt in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, as well as the provincial authority, serves as an important platform for exchanging expertise and highlighting the significant economic, social, and environmental role of the apple sector.
Apple cultivation is a strategic sector in Morocco, particularly in the Drâa-Tafilalet region, which covers 41% of the national apple-growing area and contributes about 35% of total production, making it a key driver for food security and job creation, with ongoing state support through the national strategy “Green Generation 2020-2030.”
The forum’s activities include an exhibition covering 5,500 square meters with approximately 175 exhibitors, an intensive scientific program featuring seminars and workshops led by Moroccan and international experts, as well as awards for the best apple producers and processing units, alongside artistic and cultural activities celebrating local heritage and traditional skills of the region.
