On Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Province of Kelaat Sraghna, a series of partnership agreements were signed aimed at supporting women’s cooperatives and empowering female project holders, as part of the regional forum on “Rural Women: Actors in Sustainable Development and Social Innovation”.
These agreements are the result of collaboration among several partner sectors, including the Provincial Human Development Committee, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture for Marrakech-Safi, and the Provincial Directorate of Handicrafts, with support from the Foundation for Developing Enterprises and the Initiative Foundation for Youth and Entrepreneurship, both partners in the National Human Development Initiative, providing technical support to the benefiting projects.
The agreements cover six women’s cooperatives active in handicrafts, agriculture, and local product valorization, as well as six emerging enterprises established by women entrepreneurs in the province in various fields, including beauty services, catering, production and handicrafts, sports, and confectionery.
The agreements aim to promote women’s entrepreneurship and strengthen local cooperative initiatives, particularly among rural women, by creating sustainable economic activities that improve income and enhance economic empowerment, in line with the objectives of the third phase of the National Human Development Initiative.
In a statement to the press, Hamd Salek, Head of Social Work at the Provincial Administration, noted that these agreements align with regional efforts to support income-generating initiatives and enhance the economic inclusion of youth and women, through support for individual and group projects and the valorization of local skills across production chains.
Salek emphasized that these agreements reflect a collective will to advance human capital in the province by supporting women’s and youth entrepreneurship and valuing local talents, noting that the new approach of the initiative focuses on measurable results and creating a direct economic and social impact for rural communities.
