On Wednesday, at the 7th Recruit Training Center in Benslimane, the training of the 40th military service recruit class officially began. The class includes 1,943 recruits, including 552 women, who will benefit from a comprehensive training program supervised by a team of specialized instructors, combining theoretical and practical courses, as well as educational and sports activities.
The program aims to strengthen the recruits’ sense of national belonging, develop their physical and mental skills, and instill values of discipline, responsibility, commitment, and independence.
During the flag-raising ceremony, Major General Rachid Zemzoumi, Head of the Recruitment Office of the Royal Armed Forces, emphasized that the implementation of the National Military Service Program is carried out in accordance with the Supreme Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander of the Royal Armed Forces, while ensuring the preservation of its achievements and enhancing its impact and national outreach.
Zemzoumi highlighted the high level of interest among Moroccan youth in joining military service, which prompted the Royal Armed Forces, in coordination with public administrations and relevant authorities, to launch the selection and integration process for the 40th recruit class, which has already produced positive results and significant gains since the resumption of this system.
The training program is divided into two integrated phases: the first lasts four months for basic military training, and the second eight months for professional qualification in various fields. Zemzoumi also stressed the importance of continuous effort and strict discipline, following the path set by previous classes.
A tour of the center’s facilities included residences, cafeterias, dining halls, training rooms, and exercise areas, where Second Lieutenant Younes El Kartit, an instructor at the center, confirmed that the Royal Armed Forces have mobilized all human and logistical resources to provide a suitable environment for the new recruits, helping them develop their skills.
The recruits expressed pride and honor in joining the 40th class, with recruit Khawla El Hakk stating: “I am proud to wear the military uniform and undertake this unique experience, which will instill in me values of discipline, responsibility, and patriotism.” Recruit Salah Eddine Rtel added: “I joined military service voluntarily to benefit from this outstanding experience and achieve my personal and professional goals. I feel proud of this choice, which opens new horizons for me.”
It is noteworthy that the selection and integration process for the 40th recruit class began on September 1 and continued until the end of the month, under the supervision of a committee representing various offices and departments of the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces, in implementation of the Supreme Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
