During the early hours of Wednesday morning, October 15, the police in Tangier successfully arrested a 23-year-old suspect on suspicion of involvement in a robbery case accompanied by assault resulting in death and subsequent flight.
On October 7, the Tangier Judicial Police had previously apprehended the suspect along with an accomplice for their involvement in assaulting a victim during the robbery that led to death. The main suspect, however, managed to escape during the investigation while authorities were searching for part of the stolen property and the weapon used in one of the forests surrounding Tangier.
Intensive field operations conducted by the police enabled them to locate the suspect in the “Eastern Awama” area. He was apprehended in a state of sedation and strong agitation, with part of police handcuffs on one wrist, and was found in possession of a large knife.
