Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the strength and depth of the relations between Russia and Syria, describing them as historical ties spanning over eighty years, based on mutual interests and the welfare of the Syrian people, free from narrow political calculations.
During his meeting with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shar’ at the Kremlin in Moscow, Putin stressed that Russia maintains close relations with the Syrian people and seeks to further develop bilateral cooperation across various sectors, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
Putin also noted that the Russia-Syria Joint Government Committee will soon resume its work to strengthen economic and political coordination and consolidate the existing partnership between Moscow and Damascus.
